Black Girls in Tech (BGIT), in partnership with TeachHerSales, hosted an interactive Tech Sales Workshop on 6 June 2025 at BrainStation's Shoreditch campus, providing women with practical insights into one of the technology sector's fastest-growing career paths.

The event brought together aspiring professionals, career changers, and women looking to expand their opportunities within the technology industry through an engaging programme of expert-led learning, interactive exercises, and panel discussions.

The keynote session offered attendees a comprehensive introduction to the world of tech sales, exploring the wide range of roles available across the industry, including Sales Development Representative (SDR), Account Executive (AE), Customer Success Manager (CSM), and other customer-facing positions. Participants gained a clear understanding of how these roles contribute to the growth of technology businesses and the diverse career progression opportunities they offer.

A key focus of the workshop was helping attendees recognise the transferable skills they already possess. Through practical examples and tailored interview guidance, participants learned how to effectively communicate their existing experience and position themselves confidently for opportunities in tech sales, regardless of their previous professional background.

The session also featured hands-on activities, including interview preparation and objection-handling exercises, enabling attendees to build confidence while developing practical techniques they could apply throughout the recruitment process. Discussions also explored the importance of increasing female representation within tech sales and addressed the barriers many women face when entering the profession.

The event concluded with an engaging panel discussion featuring experienced professionals from the industry, who shared their personal career journeys, advice for breaking into tech sales, and perspectives on building long-term success. Their stories demonstrated that there are multiple pathways into the industry and reinforced the message that careers in technology are accessible to people from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Through partnerships with organisations such as TeachHerSales, Black Girls in Tech continues to broaden awareness of the diverse opportunities available across the technology sector. By providing practical training, industry connections, and supportive learning environments, BGIT remains committed to empowering Black women with the knowledge, confidence, and networks needed to thrive in technology careers.

Black Girls in Tech extends its sincere thanks to TeachHerSales, the keynote speaker, panellists, BrainStation for hosting the event, and everyone who attended and contributed to an inspiring afternoon of learning and professional development. The organisation looks forward to continuing to create opportunities that equip women with the skills and confidence to succeed across every area of the technology industry.
